Compilation issue

I have problems building this on latest Typescript (5.8.3). Any chance someone looks into this ?

I will look into it.

We are a few Typescript versions behind, and we need to maintain some level of backward compatibility (i.e., we can't make it so that it only compiles on 5.8.x either)

Agreed, the main issue i think is the handling of "any".
