Tachometer Visual Display - Linear instead of circular

I Love the multi range capability of the Tachometer ... but would like to use this on a LINEAR gauge... would it be possible to be able to have the option to change this tachometer from being circular to a linear gauge ?  This would take less space in a dashboard and would be easier to put different instance below each other (each with different time period)
