Description
Hello! o)
I've tried several audio recording apps, none so far has the most important thing, when recording audio:
A display to see the recording level!
I came here to suggest the feature for your app, since it seems to be the best so far! o)
This is important to have, because..
- you need to see when clipping occurs
- you need to see if recording level is too low
- you always try to maximize signal to noise ratio in any advanced audio recording
(which means, record as loud as possible without clipping)
Currently you have no idea how loud or too loud the recording will be. The upper and lower border in the waveform display does not reflect / show the maximum possible recording level. It also looks as if recording would already clip, but after rendering the file and the final waveform, you can see that the visual clipping when recording is not the maximum recording level, because some parts of the wave form can be even louder.
The display of the waveform right now, only shows the red box part of the audio level, I try to visualize it with this image:
I hope this makes sense to you and everyone! o) At some point in time, we will hopefully have an Android app, which can actually replace my physical audio recording device, I still need to make use of a dedicated, external audio recorder to get decent recordings, because of "no recording level display anywhere", even though the smartphone would do fine.
Thank you! o))
