Description
I would like to propose a feature that allows users to add and manage additional content for their games. Currently, Drop OSS focuses primarily on the game files themselves. Adding support for "Digital Extras" would make the library feel more complete and professional.
Proposed Solution
Introduce a new section within the game details view called "Extras" or "Bonus Content". In this section, users should be able to:
- Link multiple files/folders (e.g., PDF manuals, FLAC/MP3 soundtracks, digital artbooks).
- Categorize these items (Manual, Soundtrack, Artbook, Map, etc.).
- Download/Open separately: These items should have their own "Download" or "Open" buttons so they don't have to be handled together with the main game installation.
Use Case
Many DRM-free games (from platforms like GOG or itch.io) come with additional goodies. Having these directly accessible within Drop OSS would eliminate the need to browse the file system manually to find a game's manual or soundtrack.
Potential Implementation Details (Suggestions)
- Metadata: Allow adding a title and a category for each extra.
- Storage: Extras could be stored in a subfolder within the game's directory or a dedicated "Extras" folder.
- UI: A simple list or grid view under the main game description.
