[Bug]: Map navigation/zooming is stuttering

Expected Behavior

Navigating maps should feel smooth.

For example, like here:

Actual Behavior

When navigating various maps in MPM (for example for Cluster Display or Location selection) the UI is very disruptive as the zoom is stuttering a lot.

Steps to reproduce

Use any map in MPM and zoom in and out.

The main point is to demonstrate what I mean with "smooth". Does that make sense?
