DESCRIPTION

The "restart.ps1" PowerShell script is designed to start a Minecraft server using Fabric, and automatically restart it if it detects a crash. It also handles voluntary shutdowns and restarts in a controlled manner.

KEY FEATURES

Configuration: Defines various parameters such as the restart flag file (.restart_flag), the time to wait before restarting, whether to restart on crash, the name of the server JAR file, the Java heap size, and JVM flags.

Removing the restart flag: On startup, the script removes the .restart_flag file if it exists, to ensure that there are no unexpected restarts from the start.

Running the Server: The (Run-Server) function builds the necessary arguments and runs the server with "java". It returns the exit code of the process.

Infinite Loop: The script enters an infinite loop where it runs the server and monitors its status. If the server stops unexpectedly (crash), it creates the ".restart_flag" file if the configuration allows it.

Crash and Restart Handling: If a crash is detected (exit code other than 0), and the restart on crash option is enabled, it creates the ".restart_flag" file. If the server stops voluntarily (exit code 0), it checks for the existence of the ".restart_flag" file and decides whether to restart the server or stop it.

Delay before Reboot: If the server must be rebooted, the script waits a specified amount of time before doing so, allowing the administrator to abort the reboot if necessary.

Changes Made and Explanation

Conversion to PowerShell: The original batch script was converted to PowerShell to take advantage of the increased flexibility and functionality of PowerShell.

Removing ".restart_flag" on startup: Ensures that the script does not restart the server immediately on startup due to a residual flag file.

Building and Executing Java Arguments: JVM and Minecraft arguments are built to be compatible with PowerShell and the "java" command is executed with these arguments.

Exit Code Handling: The exit code of the Java process is captured to determine if the server stopped gracefully or if there was a crash.

File and Permissions Check: Checks if Java is installed and in the system PATH and if the server JAR file exists, providing helpful error messages if it does not.

Wait Before Reboot: Use "Start-Sleep" instead of "timeout" to implement delay before reboot, ensuring compatibility with PowerShell.

Error Handling and Debug Messages: Debug messages and error handling have been added to improve visibility and aid in troubleshooting.

Pause Before Exit: Use "pause" to prevent the console from closing automatically, allowing the administrator to see any error messages or final status of the script.
