Unreal 5.7

Is there any way to contribute a 5.7 upgrade? I would love to help but I don't know the steps involved.

Thank you for offering help.

Typically I try to build it for the new version and check if the DEMO project still works or throws any warnings.

I would be glad if you could test it, 4 eyes and so on.

There is a new yet half-documented way to build the plugin with cmake:
replace:

• PATH with \PATH\TO\UNREAL_ENGINE\Build\BatchFiles\RunUAT.bat
• PLATFORM with one of Win64, Mac, or Linux

cd inkcpp
mkdir build
cd build
cmake -DINKCPP_UNREAL=ON -DINKPP_UNREAL_TARGET_VERSION=5.7 -DINKCPP_UNREAL_RunUAT_PATH="PATH" -DINKCPP_UNREAL_TARGET_PLATFORM="PLATFORM"  ..
cmake --build . --target unreal

This should prepare the source folder build/unreal/inkcpp to contain all files to build the plugin.
And put the compiled plugin into build/unreal/Plugins/inkcpp

You can then copy the folder build/unreal/Plugins/inkcpp to:

• /PATH/TO/UNREAL_ENGINE/Engine/Plugins/ and it will be available as a plugin in the plugin list.
• Or /PATH/TO/UNREAL_PROJECT/Plugins/ and it will be integrated at the next startup.

If you need help at any point, feel free to ask. It will also be a good test for the instructions.

I did a bit of testing, and it seems to work, and I did not find anything concerning in the release notes.

And there is Segfault, when you save after taking the first damage. Probably in connection with #116
