Minimum Requirement of Real Memory

Hi,
I installed the local version on an elder laptop with 8 GB real storage. Although I increased the swap partition of my linux from 8 GB to 32 GB after the first failure, the problem with too less real memory always persists. Must I increase the real memory, or exists an option in the application for such a problem ?
