The current landing page says

Additionally, toys can also utilize other control inputs such as the device's gyroscope and accelerometer

Yet there is no documentation at the moment on how to access any or all of the inputs.
I'd like access to gyroscope and also SMS or phone call messaging so I can tilt to scroll text or notifications.

There's no specific way to do this with Glyph SDK, it's just like you'd do it with any other apps, Glyph SDK is only relevant for what you need to display on the screen and interaction with Glyph Touch.
