Not rendering long cable and pipeline segments?

There appears to be a problem with long lines and rendering.
There is a lot of data on pipes, communication- and power cables sin the North Sea that is missing on the map.

Either the map has not been updated for these areas in years or segments over around 50km are left out.

The zoom level of rendering could also be improved for cables, overhead lines and pipes.

Can you give an example (lat/lon, zoom level) and say what you would be expecting and are missing? Also, when you say "there is data" I am assuming you are referring to openstreetmap. Are these features displayed on https://www.openstreetmap.org/?

Missing 3 gas pipes to Kollsnes. I just added tags to the power cables as I had forgotten. Not sure how fast the map updates.

You can see the Kvitebjørn pipeline because I split it not to far out to test. Still missing a bit due to caching I guess. But the section out at sea which is like 180km long is not showing up.
The 3 pipes from Troll A is missing and the so are Zeepipe 2A and 2B.

Missing 5 pipelines and a power line to Gjøa. The two short power cables over the fjord in the area is showing.

Missing Europipe and the NorthSeaLink cable. The HVDC to Johan Sverdrup stops where the two cables split. Suspect the cable segment from the rectifier is short enough to be displayed. NO-UK fiber cable also not showing up.

Any chance to add a small variation for power cables as well? On Norwegian charts they will have a small lightning symbol in the line as well.

The link that Dirk sent is the piece of code that renders the nautical layer (which could or should include the pipelines and cables). Ultimately, that is the code that would have to be changed, but for now, let's have the discussion here.

We would need to investigate whether there is something different about how these data are represented in OSM, or how they are rendered, or whether the renderer is simply behind.

Regarding the different rendering for Norway, I suspect that is not something easily implemented. Just out of curiosity though, would your expectation be that if a Norwegian looks at a cable off the coast of, say, the US, they would see the alternate rendering (i.e. it is controlled by what your browser says who you identify with) or is it that you would expect everyone to see the alternate rendering, but only for cables in the (TBD) vicinity of Norway?

The rendering is supposed to be part of an international standard for cables. Any cable with 50 volts or more should have this symbol. So basically anything except fiber optical cables AFAIK. Old traditional telephone cables could have power for repeaters? Offshore umbilical cables are typical for this as they are "all in one" type of cable with power and fiber optics in one.

There is also the disused pipes and cables which should shows up as a dashed line.

It is in both Norwegian and English. The part on cables is on page 41 or so.
It's not critical, even Kartverket is slacking on this in their nautical charts. Several offshore power cables are not displayed as such in the low res raster charts.
You'll find the raster version in JOSM imagery if you edit anywhere in its covered area like the North Sea, called "Kartverket Nautical Charts".

The renderer is clearly working for shorter segments which appears to be around 50km or less.
I've recently added more pipes and cables at Oseberg and most of them show except; the oil export pipe to Sture terminal, gas export pipe to Heimdal and the Tampnet FOC. Even the Frostpipe that runs to Frigg, but no longer in use, is missing.
