Possible to handle "extended" GTFS data?

My local agency publishes their data with various "extensions". When I import their feed, this extended data isn't present. Is there some way to get that data imported, either by having it add all unknown columns to the relevant tables, or somehow specifying what extra data I want? For my usage in particular I'm interested in the extra fields in trips.txt.
