Replacement for librarian-puppet?

With Puppet I have always used “librarian-puppet” to manage, resolve and check the transitive dependencies of Puppet modules ("Puppetfile"). I have just started to replace Puppet with Openvox and discovered that "librarian-puppet" has dependencies to Puppet in Apt.

I know that r10K used to be an alternative, but at that time it could not identify or manage version conflicts of transitive dependencies.

What is the current tool of choice?

I think both of them depend on puppet for puppet module install. It would be nice if that was somehow extracted into a gem, like puppet-modulebuilder is

If that is the case, this is a blocker for my migration path.

I actually don't see a direct require statement where puppet is pulled in. It just relies on puppet to be in your PATH:

Since you mention the apt dependency, I think you use https://packages.debian.org/bookworm/librarian-puppet. That adds a dependency on puppet. I think a more realistic fix is that openvox packages start providing puppet as well as puppet-agent. In OpenVoxProject/openvox-agent#5 there was some work in that direction.
