How hard is it to add loongarch64 support to C compiler?

PS I'm not related in any way to loongson or china, just playing with machine from aliexpress and trying to port somehow OpenBSD to it

Idk, there is the word "portable" in the name of this project...
So yeah I'm also a bit curious about what that actually entails. Maybe a good time to dig into source?

Loongarch64 is similar to other targets like mips64. You should have little trouble sitting down and copying GCC loongarch defines as a basis, then working through architectural differences to figure out adding support for PCC. GitHub Copilot and GPT-5 in my experience can at least point you to materials you can use for ABI, backend code etc.

In short, ragge will probably merge good code, and I'm sure that any contributions are welcome :)

No problem :-) I think the easiest would be to just copy mips64 to loongarch64 and modify the stuff that differs.

Yeah, at first look (for pcc repo) it was that simple as add arch to configure and copy folder (True portability!).
binaries compiled and running.

Now fighting pcc-libs
