PDF QuickLook closes automatically on the first attempt after system boot #1851

Description

@ataiger

When I try to preview a PDF file by pressing the Space key, the QuickLook window opens but does not stay on top. Instead, it closes automatically after about 0.5 seconds.

Initially, when the "Always on Top" option was disabled, I thought I simply had to press the Space key twice to open a PDF. However, after enabling the "Always on Top" option, I realized that the window was actually opening and then immediately closing itself.

To reproduce,

Boot the computer.

Select a PDF file and press Space to open QuickLook.

The window appears briefly and then disappears.

Press Space again, and it works normally from the second attempt onwards.

This issue consistently occurs the first time I open a PDF after booting the system. Once it has happened, QuickLook works fine for a while, even if I restart the QuickLook application itself. However, the issue reappears after some time has passed.

When the window closes, it disappears silently. There are no crash reports, error messages, or logs indicating a failure.

I am using the built-in PDF plugin and do not have any other PDF plugins installed. I prefer using the default viewer and would like to continue doing so.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? What could be the cause of this behavior?
