Stuttering in video playback when overlay controls are showing

When you preview a video, it stutters only when the overlay playback controls are active. When they disappear, it plays fine. Moving the mouse cursor makes the overlay controls appear again, and the stutter returns. This has happened to me in all versions I've tried.
