Description
Hi! First off, really enjoying the app. It’s been reliable and genuinely helpful for keeping my time tracking accurate. I wanted to share a feature idea and see if it’s something you’ve considered or might be open to discussing. I completely understand there are engineering, security, and maintenance trade-offs here, so this is more of an exploratory suggestion than a demand.
Feature idea (high-level):
- PC access (Windows / macOS / Linux): A way to control the tracker while working on a computer, without needing a full cloud-based desktop app.
- Local-only web interface: The mobile app could expose a small local web UI that’s accessible only when the phone and PC are on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Browser-based via local port: Something like opening
http://<phone-ip>:<port>in a browser to start/stop or switch timers. - Security-friendly by design: Local network only, no external exposure, no account sync changes required.
- Big quality-of-life win: When I’m focused on PC work, I often forget to pick up my phone just to change the tracker — that’s usually when tracking accuracy drops.
From a user perspective, this feels like a small, elegant addition with a lot of daily impact, especially for people who spend most of their working hours on a computer. Totally appreciate the effort this would take, but I wanted to share the idea and see if it aligns with your roadmap or long-term vision for the app.
