Magus UI periodically enters permanent "random scroll" state

Running v22.4.0 on a 2019 Magus (with custom-installed MidiBoot2 with watchdog) I was running a patch with a series of patch cables running from Magus parameters to other Magus parameters. I yanked all the patch cables out at once and suddenly the UI started acting strange. About once a second the screen would randomly "scroll" horizontally and vertically, and periodically all the LEDs would turn a mellow red at the same time. I made a short video:

I was not able to capture the red encoders in the video. the normal behavior of this patch is to display "F4 F4 F4" (or 3 of whatever note was last pressed on the keyboard) and the series of vertical lines at the bottom of the screen is also normal. The only unusual thing is the scrolling.

This only happened once and is not interfering with device usage, so you may close this issue. But it was unusual I wanted to file it...

This wasn't a one-time event, I saw it again, the second time the only trigger was I plugged in a keyboard and started issuing MIDI events. (I have a video if it would help.) The screen started randomly scrolling and the LEDs all suddenly switched from all-blue to rapidly flickering green with occasional short bursts of red. I discovered that while in this state if I upload a new patch, the LEDs correct themselves back to blue, but only for a few seconds, then it's back to green flicker. The screen never becomes correct again, it actually was random-scrolling while showing the "uploading..." UI. The only thing that fixes the UI is a power cycle.

In fact this is reproducible. I can make this happen 100% of the time by plugging in a Korg microKEY Air and wobbling the joystick side to side. (Seems to be side to side, not up and down, that does it.) According to the manual, joystick-X sends pitch bend MIDI.
