(UI) the method by which to add components in not obvious

Possible fixes: 
- zoom in on railroad when empty, resize as appropriate
- when user clicks component, red circle or arrow hovers over target
- click a "demo" button for a quick gif/image/ animation of a component being added

The latter is probably the best solution
