when sending email via SMS gateway nothing happens

I can email texts to and from my phone via SMS, I assume Sprint (and now T-mobile) has some sort of gateway.

I was trying to use this with seva, but can't get it to respond. The text shows up looking like it has "gps_search" plus a newline, and says it's from my email address (i.e. someone@somewhere.com).

I have my own phone in the trusted list, and can text myself and seva responds.

Any ideas on why this does not work?
