How to add custom elements and compound without modifying jar?

Hi. I have a modpack where I want to create custom compounds and elements. But they seem to be defined in JSON and read from a jar directly. Is it possible to add them from a modpack? Via KubeJS, KubeJS data folder, config, anything?
