Description
When using crit bombs with BetterCritChance enabled, these bombs do way more dmg than they should. But the actual behavior of the dmg is a little funny -- it appears to be somehow based on how many monsters the bomb is targeting. I've tested this with both monsters and non-monster creatures (e.g. apparition).
I haven't figured exactly how it works, but when just a few creatures are targeted, the bomb does not do excessive dmg. When you target a group of monsters though, it does.
Using the below gem (grade 1 crit), I target the front monster of the pack, dropping 20 or 30 bombs on it. The dmg shows up in the numerical hp of the monster, but doesn't visually register in the health bar at all cause it's so little dmg.
However, I then drop the same bomb on the trailing group of monsters, which has even higher hp monsters in it. Most monsters are eliminated after the first bomb.
Same sort of thing has been observed with flying creatures. An apparition enters the battle field and I can drop endless bombs on it with no noticeable effect. It flies over near a group of monsters and I drop another gem bomb, which one-shots it.
Note that I tested turning off BetterCritChance and I got behavior I was expecting. Also, I do not have BetterGemBombs enabled.
