`gs ls` is slow

First of all, thank you for this great tool, love it.

I wanted to reported that gs ls seems unnecessarily slow. On my M4 Pro, it takes almost half a second.

$ time gs ls
  ┏━■ branch1 ◀
┏━┻□ branch2 (!1669)
master
gs ls  0.16s user 0.21s system 86% cpu 0.421 total

Version 0.20.2

I have some ideas on how to speed it up but yeah, it has to load all state for all branches.

Out of curiosity: how many tracked branches do you have in that repo?

I haven't found a command to list all tracked branches, but it should be less than 10.

I tried on a repo without tracked branches as well, it's also kind of slow:

master ◀
gs ls  0.04s user 0.06s system 57% cpu 0.173 total

"gs ls -a" will list all tracked branches.

Only three tracked branches:

Anyway, this is a minor issue.

I am aware of this issue, and I have some ideas to make improvements on it.
I'm questioning whether storing the state of each branch in a separate file was the right call after all.
That's mutable, though. If everything was stored in one file, that would be one operation and likely a lot faster.
I'll think about this a bit more.
