While running the provided example code, the minimum value of v returned is 0.12157995998859406. This result requires extremely fine discretization, leading to a significantly increased memory requirement (over 500 GiB). I suspect there might be a bug in the code causing this issue. Kindly investigate and resolve it.

Hello and thank you for reporting this issue. I have confirmed it, but unfortunately do not yet know the cause. It seems to work when running on a CPU, at least for the number of iterations that I let it run for. A workaround that I think should work would be to constrain the velocities to be within specified bounds, such as by using the Model class from the FWI example. I hope to release a new version of Deepwave in one or two months. If this example still does not work on GPUs with the new version, I will change the example to use this Model class. I am sorry for not having a better solution at the moment.
