I'm not understanding the issue. Please describe how to replicate in more detail. Is this encountered on a link in a fresh install of the ZF2FileUploadExamples module or are you running custom code?

when the problem mentioned above appears, the image upload is done because I can see it in tmpuploads folder.
but doing refresh the page the following error appears:

Thanks @williangringo, I am also able to reproduce. The issue seems to be associated with how the session information is unserialized, as it is throwing warnings in the json response:

<b>Warning</b>:  Class __PHP_Incomplete_Class has no unserializer in <b>Unknown</b> on line <b>0</b><br />...

I spot tested against ZF2 versions 2.1.0, 2.1.5, and 2.2.5 to see if it was a breaking change in the framework, but I'm able to replicate this issue with all of the versions I tried.

I'll look more closely into those warnings this weekend, and keep you posted. Thanks for reporting this!

Issue tracked to: zendframework/zendframework#4821

There appears to be a limitation with the way PHP internally re-serializes the session with the progress data during an upload. Since ZF2 containers store themselves as Zend\Stdlib\ArrayObject, when PHP internally unserializes the session it does not have context to the ZF2 application. It seems like this is not limited to ZF2 - If you were to serialize an object with an external class type to the session, session uploads will always corrupt it. The trick would be to always use scalar types and internal classes when serializing to the session.

Some potential workarounds:

• Do not use the Zend\Session\Container, use $_SESSION directly.
• Use a custom Zend\Session\AbstractContainer::createContainer() that does not use Zend\Stdlib\ArrayObject. (It seems to work OK when I use \ArrayObject, but only did limited testing)

I'll post a comment to that issue thread and see if anyone has any new feedback.

None that I see on the ZF2 issue thread, unfortunately: zendframework/zendframework#4821

The only alternative solutions that I know of at the moment are the workarounds I posted previously.
