Some manufacturers do not provide accurate EDID information

Garbage in, garbage out. When xrandr looks for information sometimes fields are left empty, or contain bad information. The same with ddcutil. Unless manufacturers fill out this information there isn't a good way to fix this issue. Most important fix would be the serial number.
