Installer - both graphical and console - crashes shortly after partitoning and luks setup

Describe the bug
multiple times, and after multiple (re)downloads of the ISO I'm getting installer crashes shortly after install initialization and directly after partioning/luks encryption.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
Start the installer
choose appropriate options. For me they were:

1. safe install (has happened on custom partitioning as well)
2. no bundles
3. telemetry on
4. hostname populated
5. one user added as admin
6. timezone changed to EST

Expected behavior
For the installer to not crash after partitioning and encryption.
