It seems that ES8388 is a bit more complicated than pcm5102, and you have to issue some commands to switch it to the right mode. I don't have a ready solution, but i'm pretty sure that there must be code ready to drop in. |

Thanks. Yes. I did add the i2c pins and mapped the correct pins for clk, bck, dout etc, i can see midi in coming in but nothing comes out. So most likely it involves more work. I do like the audiokit as it requires less wiring and has a good audio quality.

Has anybody tried to implement this to the ESP32 Audiokit? I cannot find where to set SDA and SCL pins for the ES8388.
As far as I know this has 4mb flash and 4mb psram so it should work. quite well. I was able to upload the sketch... changed the midi RX pin to 22 and I see midi coming in, but I do not get any sound out of it.
