sp and raster ritirement

Is there any plan to remove these packages in the dependencies due to their retirement.
I think replaced by sf, terra and stars.

rgdal (removed from cran) is also used in the quickstart guide here & should be removed. Most rgdal functions can be replaced easily with sf
