Unable to install kicad step up on freecad 1.0

I am not able to install KicadStepUpMod.
When I try to install it, freecad shows me this error

Git returned a non-zero exit status: -1

But git works correctly if I run the command inside the flatpak.

Step to reproduce:

1. Install freecad from flatpak
2. Go to the addons
3. Search for kicadstepup
4. Install the addon.

The ‘Fatal: early EOF’ error in Git typically occurs during cloning, fetching, or pushing operations. This error is often caused by network issues or repository corruption, leading to an incomplete or interrupted data transfer.

I can chek with Appimage, but it could also be related to the fact that the repository is big.

I checked with latest AppImage https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/releases/tag/weekly-2025.07.07
and I can reproduce the issue.

But if I call the git command with a terminal command, everything goes fine.

in an answer there is a tip:

This error may occur for memory needs of git.

Hope this may help you in reporting the issue to FreeCAD Addon Manager.

I tried after this command:
git config --global core.compression 9
and the installing worked inside FreeCAD...
I really think this is an Addon Manager issue
to be detailed here:

I can report that this appears to also be an issue on MacOS. Installation fails when attempting to install from the FreeCAD add-on manager.

After the initial failure, I attempted to try again within the same session, but that too failed. I then restarted FreeCAD, and noticed after it reloaded its add-on cache, that it said that there was an upgrade available for KiCadStepUp-WB to 11.7.3.

I did attempt the upgrade but that too failed. See below screenshot and console log:

It would seam that there could be something wrong with the addon manager, if the logs are actually pointing to the correct issue.

Hi easyw, I have just created installation package for Woodworking workbench. This is installation package with FreeCAD kernel and Woodworking workbench. This AppImage will copy the Woodworking workbench into ~/.local/share/FreeCAD/Mod folder, will run the FreeCAD, and set the Woodworking workbench as default. So you will be able to update later the Woodworking workbench via debugInfo tool.

So in some cases you can skip the Add-on Manager. But currently this is only for Linux.
If you want I can add to next version of this package your workbench as well.

ATM it seems that @chennes has solved the issue with this PR FreeCAD/AddonManager#156
The user has to update the AddonManager through installing the new AM with the AM itself.
It seems to work fine with my WB.
