How to deal with transcripts?

Should we deprecate transcripts or add them to the API?

We could make transcripts render with markdown, and support the [^n] footnoting syntax.

I vote that we encourage people to excerpt and comment on documents directly from notes, and to link to external transcription services.

However, there's this:

The vast majority of these are Inglis cards, which we should not just get rid of.
