Apparently, references in Firestore is generated each time to ensure id integrity, thus causing rerenders. The OP of the answer says useRef solves this issue.

Maybe, all providers can wrap all providers with useRef. For doc and collections, there are two ideas:

• The user can be warned to use useRef to wrap doc, collection and querys.
  • Pros: Does not require too much work.
  • Cons: If the users do not read the docs carefully, they might suffer expensive billings.
• There might be corresponding internal methods named refDoc, refCollection and refQuery with the same signatures to the corresponding internal Firebase methods.
  • Pros: An easy way for devs to wrap each doc, collection or querys with MutableRefObject.
  • Cons: Requires extra knowledge about the library.
• The signature for useCollection and useDocument might change to internally construct query, collection and document references.
  • Pros: Move the construction of referencing logic inside the hooks.
  • Cons: Requires too much refactoring. Breaks when Firebase changes its signatures.
