When can we get the Rust version?

According to https://opensourcelive.withgoogle.com/events/rust-day-2022?talk=talk5, @felipeamp ported this project to Rust, but we outsiders cannot get the ported version.
This will mean this C++ version is abandoned and only in maintenance mode.
All Rust crates whose names contain woff2 are unofficial and developed by outsiders of Google.

Is the Rust version public or dedicated to Google insiders? Many projects depend on this C++ version. If it is abandoned, it is unhealthy.

AFAIK the shipping version remains the C++ edition

I have indepedently ported this library to Rust here: https://github.com/nicoburns/wuff (currently only the decoder). Tested as producing identical output to this library for every font in https://github.com/google/fonts

Ah, I see. We'll probably port that eventually, but it's not very high priority for me as I'm targeting the client use cases.

In the first place you wouldn't have had to make such effort to port this to Rust if Google had made the Rust version public.
