We control HERO cameras via the OpenGoPro USB API. Typical workflow: start/stop acquisition and download video.
Sometimes, right after the start acquisition command, some computers cannot supply sufficient current trough their USB port. The camera attempts to draw power from the bus; voltage drops, and the USB link resets.
At that moment the camera disappears from the operating-system device list (Windows plays the familiar “USB device disconnect” sound)
Describe the solution you'd like
A command setting that instructs the camera to ignore external USB power and run solely on its internal battery whenever a USB cable is attached.
