How do I make a custom profile in HMM 8 (Steam Deck Linux)?

I want to play Frontiers Revisited, but the GB page says that making a custom profile is recommended and I can't figure out how to make one in the current HMM build. Could someone please help me?

The current release cannot create new profiles, but you can if you use the current dev build which at the time of writing is 41b624a.
