Valkey compatibility

I am just wondering if it’s fully compatible with the valkey client? https://github.com/valkey-io/valkey-py
If not, what would be the necessary code adaptations?

It should work if you use strict=False. But why does that client library even exist? Isn't redis-py compatible with valkey server? What does that client library fork change? I'm having a hard time seeing anything relevant in the autogenerated stuff in https://github.com/valkey-io/valkey-py/releases

@ionelmc thanks for your swift feedback. valkey currently is compatible with redis-py, but at some point in the future this will very likely change. Therefore the valkey project recommends doing the switch to the valkey client library. For Django, there already is a valkey library: https://github.com/django-commons/django-valkey
