Certain techs unlocked before they are possible.

You are able to "Author a journal by hand" and "Make a book by hand" before they are actually possible because they require paper. These should be locked till you unlock the ability to make paper.

"Make tablet" should also be locked till after you get Stonecutting but thats just a personal opinion.
