Clarify project status

From the development history, it seems like the rewrite has been at least put on hold, while development on gitit itself continues. It would be nice to add a note in the readme and/or archive the repo, depending on your intentions.

I haven't had a use for a wiki for a while, and I haven't had time to work on either this or gitit. Since people actually use gitit, I make minimal commits from time to time to keep it working.

If you're interested, feel free to fork this and do something with it!
