Claude Code triggering dainstall --watch

I have started using Claude Code while having dainstall --watch running. I notice that when it edits a file, I get the following:

Detected changes to:
docassemble/test/data/questions/test.yml.tmp.105716.1758799433757
Uploading docassemble/test/data/questions/test.yml.tmp.105716.1758799433757 to questions
/home/user/Documents/Test/docassemble-test/docassemble/test/data/questions/test.yml.tmp.105716.1758799433757 disappeared during processing
Done.

It then does not seem to upload the actually modified file (I need to modify it myself and save to trigger the upload).

Sorry for the slow reply. It now unfortunately does not detect changes at all when Claude code makes changes. Just shout if I can give you any further information that could help.

Should have done this to be begin with, but asked Claude Code to fix this issue. It appears to have done so successfully. Not trusting AI though, will not do a pull request, but rather let you have a look and see if this is worth incorporating.

Issue Report: dainstall --watch Atomic Write Detection

Problem Description

When using dainstall --watch, file modifications made by certain editors/tools (e.g., Claude Code, VS Code with some configurations) are not detected. Manual edits work fine.

Root Cause Analysis

Some editors use atomic writes for safety: they write to a temporary file first, then rename it to the target filename. This generates MOVED_TO filesystem events instead of MODIFY events.

Observation

Example of atomic write pattern observed via inotifywait:

The current code has two issues:

1. Regex Filtering: RegexMatchingEventHandler filters out the event before on_any_event is called because the src_path of the moved event (*.tmp.*) matches the ignore pattern .*\.tmp\..*.
2. Event Handling: The event processing only handles created, modified, and deleted—not moved events.

Fix Implementation

1. Override dispatch()

Handle moved events specially (check dest_path instead of src_path).
