Single quote character (') is not producing a prime symbol.

In normal LaTeX math mode, the single quote produces a prime symbol.
This doesn't appear to be the case for iosMath.  Anyone know why this is different?
The \prime command does produce a prime symbol so not a big deal.
Here's what should happen ```$a'$``` should give $a'$.
