Using HTTPS breaks website features

If you view the website over HTTPS at https://articlemetrics.github.io/ a lot of the functionality breaks.
This is because scripts and other assets with HTTP URLs are not loaded by most modern browsers because they are considered insecure when the page itself is loaded over HTTPS.
It would be nice for the website to support both HTTP and HTTPS as a standard security practice, and because security-conscious users with the HTTPS Everywhere browser addon will always load the HTTPS version.
