'invalid Timer number' with micropython v1.25.0

Hey,
When the example.py is executed on fresh esp32-C3 with micropython (1.24.1), everything is fine:

set volume
volume 15
start play
stop play with fadeout
volume 14
volume 13
volume 12
volume 11
volume 10
volume 9
volume 8
volume 7
volume 6
volume 5
volume 4
volume 3
volume 2
volume 1
volume 0
fadeout finished
volume 15

When using micropython (1.25.0), the following issue is reported:

ValueError: invalid Timer number
