The transient install (in service to magit) is complaining about compat libary versions: I've tried to update the compat library using use-package from early-init.el like so: but that results in the same version of compat being loaded. I suspect there might be some (require) or something I have to do but specifying a specific compat version? Can you provide guidance on how to resolve the compat version requirement? |

I don't use elpaca and I don't know why, for you at least, it only has compat 30.0.9999 instead of 30.1.0.0. Maybe you just have to refresh the local package database, I just don't know. |

It turned out to be a weird interaction between the Emacs-bundled version of seq and compat. I forced an upgrade of both from MELPA which then unblocked transient and also magit. Thx.
