[Feature] Determine the pace of video being played

Some videos are short (5-7 seconds) which restart with a poor stutter.

If the advanced settings had configurable speed (0.25x, 0.5x etc), it would eliminate that poor transition loop to great extent.

I want to understand the issue better to see if "Speed Control" is the right fix.
When you say it stutters, do you mean:

1. Performance Lag: The phone actually freezes/pauses for a split second at the end of the loop?
2. The "Seam": The video itself doesn't loop perfectly (the last frame doesn't match the first frame), so you see a visible "jump" or cut?

If it's Lag: The app is designed to seamlessly loop (I use 3.5s videos myself without issues). If it's lagging, it might be a specific device/file issue, we should debug it.
If it's The Seam: Slowing it down won't actually remove the jump; it will just make it happen less often. Plus, slowing down video too much (e.g. 0.25x) usually makes the motion look choppy because the framerate drops.

That said, I think a Speed Control slider is a good idea for many reasons! I'll add it to my roadmap for a future update in the advanced settings, but I probably won't include it in the most recent changes, focusing a bit on optimization and trying to keep the GUI clean for now.

Turns out the only thing that's poor is my English. I meant the seam. Thank you for your attention to the matter.

Thanks for the video! I can definitely see the "jump" there, and don't worry your English is fine.

However, since that is a screen recording, it's hard for me to analyze exactly what is happening. It looks like the video reaches the end and restarts, but the last frame doesn't match the first frame (which causes that visual "snap").

Could you please attach the original video file here?
I need to check the metadata and also to see if the file itself is a seamless loop.

I will check it myself and see if my app is cutting it off too early (in that case I need to fix it!).

I don't think the app is causing the issue. The video itself is downloaded from Instagram and it was not at all for live wallpaper - just an AI artwork.

Could you help even in this case?

Thanks again for the follow up and for the file! I analyzed it and found the reason.

The stutter explanation:
The issue is definitely the video content itself, not the app or the playback speed.
The video has a forward camera movement. By the end, the camera has moved forward into the clouds to a different position than where it started. When it loops, the camera instantly "teleports" back to the starting position, causing that visual snap.

About the Feature Request:
Even though changing the speed won't fix this specific "teleport" (it would just make the jump happen in slow motion), I agree that Speed Control is a great feature for other reasons!
I will keep this issue OPEN and treat it as a Feature Request for a future update. It's a good idea to let users slow down or speed up wallpapers.

Tip for this video:
If you want to make this specific clip loop, you would need to use a video editor to apply a Cross Dissolve effect (fading the end into the start), or use AI Video Generation tools (like Runway or ComfyUI) to generate a "morph" transition between the last and first frame.
