Icon passed in manifest is never rendered in Claude

Irregardless of whether I use the legacy

"icon": "icon.png"

or the newer

 "icons": [
    {
      "src": "assets/icons/icon-16.png",
      "size": "16x16",
    }
]

the icon is never rendered in the Claude Desktop UI after installing the extension. The icon is a PNG with transparent background. I have tried a variety of dimensions. I have also tried using the icons in examples directory to no avail. Am I missing something obvious here or do locally installed extensions not support icons?

The issue is partially fixed with a more recent version of Claude. Now the icon is rendered in all cases EXCEPT for the install screen. This can be reproduced using the examples.
