Seems to crash on new workspace

Leaving this here in case anybody ever looks (seems development is dead; there's no issue tracker on official JIRA)...

Could not start a new job because the directory didn't (yet) exist, so it claimed there was no space.

Building on master in workspace /data/jenkins_workspaces/new_tests
Disk space threshold is set to :1Gb
Checking disk space Now 
diskspace is 0
Total Disk space in workspace is 0
Total Disk Space Available is: 0Gb
 Node Name: master
Running Prebuild steps
ERROR: Disk Space is too low please look into it before starting a build

Solution: On the server, I manually did sudo -u jenkins mkdir /data/jenkins_workspaces/new_tests and then it worked. This shows that the Jenkins user had sufficient privileges to create the workspace, but the plugin seems to be checking too soon?
