Build from source: toolchain.path seems to be missing

In the Build firmware section of Readme.md it says

To work in Eclipse, use project import and install toolchain.path

I looked throughout the repo but I can't find a file called toolchain.path

What version of ARM GCC did you use ?

Is it possible to build just using the Makefile ?, or is the Makefile for Eclipse to use etc

1. The build works without Eclipse, by calling "make."
2. You only need to set the "PATH."
3. The default device type is selected in "config.h."

To batch build all projects I use "make_windows.cmd".

It is possible to use any Eclipse and "Import Project".

Re: ARM GCC version.

Your screengrabs show GCC C 13.2
But the windows cmd build script seems to use 14.2

I presume that either of these versions would be OK ?

I already GNU Make.

Actually I have some other versions of gcc ARM but they are within the NXP MCUExpresso and STM32Cube, which are both modified versions of Eclipse

I will install the generic version of Eclipse, but I only want to make a small change to the TH05F LCD display code

No specific features are used. Any modern version of gcc ARM is suitable.

Sometimes repos require a specific verison of compiler to function correctly, hence why I asked.

For Linux (or Windows WSL) compatibility and version specification, "python3" is used instead of "python."
For Windows, I always copy "python.exe" to "python3.exe" in the Python installation folder.

FYI.

I tried running make_windows.cmd from the Git command line (CMD), but it has errors.

However, using Bash (Git version), everything seems to build.

I did a file compare on the first file BOOT_BTH01_v21.hex, and my compiled version is identical to your published bin.

So...

Anyone wanting to build this on Windows, I recommend installing GCC ARM 4.2 Rel 1, and also make sure python is aliased to python, also install 'git for windows', and use the Bash command line to run make_windows.cmd

I did briefly try using STM32Cube, but I had errors relating to missing plugins for the Python 'Nature' and one other thing, and it was easier just to use the command line method, especially because I don't plan on using any In Circuit Debugging etc

You can choose not to install additional plugins when importing a project.

However, using Bash (Git version), everything seems to build.

For Windows, there are many options for building utility packages in an environment similar to Linux (MinGW, ..,).

Bash + Makefile is working for me.

I only want to change the comfort range, because I live in Austraila it is often > 25 deg and also humidity is often > 60%
Currently the face is often unhappy with the Australian climate ;-)

I have now used the web config to remove the smiling face, but I will also experiment rebuilding the code and reflashing
