ExtCmd receives EOF from pipe

Hi whomever is managing this now, and sorry for your loss.

I'm running "ircii" as an ExtCmd, which works great, unless I type a line more than 120 characters in which case ircii exits with

*** IRCII exiting on EOF from stdin

why is uronode sending an EOF to the pipe?

Hi Craig, coud you try calling ircii with axwrapper: https://manpages.debian.org/bullseye/ax25-tools/axwrapper.8.en.html

This is useful when starting non-AX.25-aware programs from ax25d.

Also is it possible for you to share more your config? Thatd help us look into it deeper.

Hey, thanks for the reply. edit: axwrapper does not fix the unexpected EOF, however the CR/LF transliteration puts all input and output on a single line in the terminal (xterm-256color). I could probably go to source and remove that bit.

In the above configuration if an irc client user running via uronode enters more than 100 characters (or so) for a message, uronode sends an EOF to the irc client (according to the irc client).

I take that back, axwrapper did not fix the unexpcted EOF. also the cr/lf works find on a real ax25 (but not telnet'ing to uronode), not a big deal.

example of irc running under uronode, pasting the long axwrapper man page as a single message. irc gets EOF and exits.

Reboot after moving the files over to your Playonline directory. Sometimes you have to do this. This was a hit and miss for me on some laptops. It is supported for Windower 4 but Atom0s does not give support for Windower 4 since he didn't make it for Windower 4 and instead for Ashita but the current update version does work on Windower 4 and been confirmed. I had 4-5 mods installed and worked too with no issue. I seen a major boost from swappable to now this.

What kernel, distro, and libax25 versions are you using? Im wondering if this is related to ax25 kernel module. Similar EOF behavior was reported in the pat project: la5nta/pat#191

I've seen the pat bug before, but it's rare in my experience.

I put a warning in the IRC server motd to not use more than 80 characters in a message and it's working 100%. I'm trying to think of a way to get a test-harness around this to better characterize the error.

It seems like it's an ax25 thing more than a uronode thing, so I appreciate your help in any event as they're inextricably linked.
