I'm on an azerty keyboard (Belgian layout) and "Go To File Member" is also failing for me.
Resharper accepts Alt+< (the \ is behind Alt Gr+<)
keymage sees it as Alt+undefined

Maybe before starting the lessons, ask if the user has keyboard that's not 'en-us'.
Then ask them to 'train'. By asking some key combinations, and map that to what was supposed to be entered.

Could it at least be possible to skip questions that are impossible to answer due to keyboard mismatch? I realize that it will make it easy to cheat but that is better than a lot of people getting stuck.
