Feature Request: Add Option to Set File Associations for available Codecs within the App

a button or a list to allow for setting up fly as the default image viewer for available image codecs easily would be great

picasa has a checkbox system for it, recently i "upgraded" to windows 11 and the way to setup default apps is absolutely painful

I think Microsoft prevent apps from doing this now so that it has to be the user's choice via the Open With menu.
This is because badly behaved apps stole the file associations without asking.

There is a free tool called "SetUserFTA". It's able to set associations as UserChoice without using the settings app.
You can use this to export any file association on your system into a txt file, edit it and import it back.

Use
SetUserFTA.exe get >Associations.txt
to export them and
SetUserFTA.exe Associations.txt
to import the edited Associations.

I replaced "AppX43hnxtbyyps62jhe9sqpdzxn1790zetc" (Microsoft Photos app) with "Applications\FlyPhotos.exe" for all the picture extensions and it worked immediately.

If I do some registry modifications from Fly as part of implementing features like this, and we uninstall, there will be garbage left. Since I use the most basic installer program as of now, cleaning it up there is also not an option. That is why we don't have this feature now.

In MSIX version installer, there is no need of "Open with fly" menu item, as I can register it as one of the viewers for each associated file type. So you can be sure to get this as one program option in OpenWith menu item. This also gets cleanedup with uninstall as MSIX gets installed to a sandbox and registry entries are virtual in the sandbox)
(I can't release MSIX to public as it needs certificate to install. So I need to go the MS Store way or purchase an expensive code signing certificate),

I am planning for an MSIX installer which will handle this. Not immediately. I shall move the status to "On Hold" until then.
