type for onRegionDidChange in MapView

I was looking at the source code -

   *
   * This event is triggered whenever the currently displayed map region finished changing.
   *
   * @param {PointFeature} feature - The geojson point feature at the camera center, properties contains zoomLevel, visibleBounds
   */
  onRegionDidChange?: (
    feature: GeoJSON.Feature<GeoJSON.Point, RegionPayload>,
  ) => void;

Is there a way to get PointFeature or get the RegionPayload when using the library with Typescript. At the moment I'm just using :any.

We don't export every type because then we'd have to figure out good name for this. You have those options:

1.) let type inference work:
<MapView onRegionDidChange={(feature) => {
console.log(feature);
}}
/>

typescript will figure out the type of feature. You don't need to declare the type.

2.) Use type utilities to extract the type:
type FeatureType = Parameters<ComponentProps['onRegionDidChange']>[0]

3.) File a bug/feature request explaining why 1.) and 2.) doesn't work/inconvinient for you, and ask for an export
